About Us |

After a 40 year career in education and business, 7Sisters’ founder, Linda Laird, decided to ‘Go Country’! Realizing a lifelong ambition to ‘have a horse’, she went shopping for country property where she and eventual ranch family (Pete, MaryJo, and Megan) could settle down and expand the efforts for which they had been so successful in a more urban environment. The ranch family in pre-ranch days had developed Linda’s property in the University City neighborhood of San Diego into a local showcase featuring over 15 fruit trees, critter-proof vegetable garden, Koi pond, and Epiphillum and Plumeria collections. Establishing a colony of red worms helped convert household garbage into exceptional soil and insect control with the added by-product of transforming the nearly 100% clay soil into ‘black gold’. 7Sisters expects to bring this expertise to its country operations. We currently have Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Sirah grapevines in cultivation. We are establishing our nursery and pond design operations. Despite setbacks associated with the 2007 ‘Witch’ fire including losing both residences, 7 Sisters is rebuilding, adding other species to augment our fiber production.
